Dolce Vita Hexen

I'm not normally a shoe-girl, but lately have been on a bit of an obsession coveting all the new Spring shoes that are coming out.  At the top of my list--the Dolce Vita Hexen.  I love the mix of neutral and black, a bit dressy and a bit bohemian.  I do not need to start buying again, especially now that I have to pay for Georgetown, but boy do I love these shoes.  Love them.

Tory Burch Reva Snake-Print

If you know me well, you know my fondness for the designs of Tory Burch.  Lately though, I have been pretty disappointed overall in the quality and styles coming out.  The last two Tory products I have purchased, a pair of flats (not Revas) and a purse, have both completely fallen apart.  Unacceptable for the amount of money spent on them, even on sale. 

While this has made me question whether or not I want to purchase her products any longer, I must say that I am a bit obsessed with two items in her Spring line. First, the above Revas, to replace my flats and another pair of three-year-old Revas that are now toast.  A great neutral color, but definitely not boring.

Tory Burch Trixie Dress

My other obsession is this dress.  No, I will not be paying full price for it (a bit high, don't you think?) but if I could find it on major sale, I might just have to break my boycott and snatch it up.  I have been looking for a great white/off-white lace dress for a few years now, but haven't found THE one.  I think this might just be it.

Has anyone else had problems with Tory products lately, or is it just me?  As obsessed as I have been with her, these latest purchases have definitely soured me.

Shoes Blues

So long, old friend. You will be missed.

Well, it seems that my favorite shoes of all time must finally be retired.  Think I've worn them down to the bone?  Ha!  I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't notice how bad they had gotten and I've been walking around like this for a few weeks now.  The sad part of this story is that Cole Haan no longer makes these Nike Air leopard pumps, so I'm on the hunt for a new pair. 

Trouble is, all the replacements I have found are so damn expensive!  I thought I might find some on sale considering that Spring should be around the corner, but no such luck.  So far, these are my favorites below.  If you have any recommendations, please let me know! 

J.Crew Collection Valentina Calf Hair d'Orsay pumps--These are pretty, but not sure if I want a d'Orsay pump.  I haven't bought a pair of J.Crew shoes in a few years, but the price seems a bit ridiculous for the quality of J.Crew lately.  Next.

Kate Spade Karolina Pump--Of all the shoes I found, these Kate Spade pumps look the most like my Cole Haan pair.  Again, haven't bought Kate Spade shoes in years, but the last pair I had were excrutiating to wear for more than five minutes.  Hmm, maybe not.

Donald J Pliner Pointed Toe Pumps - Brave Leopard High Heel--These are reasonably priced, and a good height, but not sure about the metallic heel.  They might warrant a closer look though.  Definitely a good option to try on.

L.K. Bennett Pointed Toe Pumps - Florete High Heel--I've never worn L.K. Bennett, but hey, if the Duchess of Cambridge can prance around in these for hours, then I'm sure they will hold up well on the marble floors of the U.S. Capitol.  Not holding my breathe, but these just might be the winners.

Manolo Blahnik BB Suede 90mm Pump--Unless of course, I win the lottery, in which I will be ordering these babies.  Made to Order, straight from Paris.  Then again, for that kind of craftmanship, I have to wait 8-10 weeks for delivery.  Not sure I am that patient.  Even for these beauties.

Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard-Print & Suede Cap-Toe Pump

How amazing are these pumps?  I mean, I am pretty much salivating while staring at them and writing this post.  Leopard and cobalt blue?  Perfection.  The price tag, however, makes me want to cry.  I can't even imagine spending that much money on a pair of shoes, even shoes this beautiful.  Okay, so maybe I can IMAGINE doing so...a girl can dream, right? 

p.s., My birthday is coming up in December if anyone wants to spoil me--I'll take these in a 6 1/2 pretty please!

Currently Craving: Burgundy Booties

For some reason, I am so drawn to these booties.  They are, in a word, hot.  The price tag is not so friendly for me, even with the 20% off sale right now at Piperlime.  But oh, how I want them.  Will the 4 1/2 inch heel be comfortable?  Probably not.  Will burgundy booties be in next year or the year after?  Chances are, not so much.  Do I really care?  Not really.  When you know, you know, right?  I think they are the one! 

Now the real question is, think I can get them on a payment plan?

Boots & Leggings Weather

The weather this week has gotten dramatically cooler, and although it's still not quite time yet, I am itching for boots and leggings weather!  Like, for reals.  I seriously want to pack away all my sandals and sundresses...far, far away...and not see them again for six to eight months.  And if I wasn't on a spending freeze and had the budget, I think I would need to purchase the above outfits.  Like now.  Is it October yet?

Yay or Nay? The Wedge Sneaker

Ash Cool Ter from Piperlime vs. Xhilaration Kahaha High Top from Target

For the past few years now, I have been going back and forth over the wedge sneaker.  I love the look of the high top sneaker with skinny jeans and sweaters, and even some dresses.  The comfort of them is also a selling point for me, plus I like the idea of mixing it up a bit...I get bored with wearing my boots day after day in the fall.  However, the price of them just doesn't seem to be worth it for me.  As much as I love the Ash brand wedge sneakers, I feel like the $34.99 price tag of the Target knock-offs is the smarter choice, even if it does look a bit cheaper.  But for trendy items, I try to buy as cheap as possible if I do give into the trend.  Since I'll only wear them for another season or two, I just can't justify paying over $100 for them.

What do you think?  Should I try out the Target brand wedge sneakers?  Or should I just go ahead and pass on the trend all together?  I have a feeling I know what most of you reading will say--PASS--but remember, my fashion is less preppy than most of you!  I don't mind being daring when it comes to fashion...just don't want to pay a fortune for my mistakes!  

Hmm, decisions, decisions.  Good think I have until next month to decide (spending freeze is still in effect)!
